Fit Strong United established the first successful Olympic-style weightlifting program in Victoria, TX that meets Monday through Thursday at 6:30pm. For those who have never tried weightlifting or it has been a while since you have lifted, we offer a beginners class on Fridays at 5:30pm. All classes are led by a USAW Level 1 Sports Performance Coach and are geared toward all ages and levels of fitness.
Fit Strong United also brought the first USA Weightlifting barbell club to the Victoria, TX area, producing weightlifters who have qualified for the American Open, Nationals, and World’s. The USAW barbell club and program has continued to grow by starting all lifter off with a strong foundation in Olympic-style weightlifting.
BUILD A STRONG FOUNDATION WITH GOOD TECHNIQUES
What Is It? Olympic-style Weightlifting is an athletic discipline in the modern Olympic program in which participants attempt a single lift at maximum weight in both the Snatch and Clean and Jerk. Although these two lifts are the main focal points you will also practice the auxiliary lifts such as squats and presses. The Olympic lifts and their components are commonly used in other sports to train for both explosive and functional strength.
Nearly 75% of CrossFit workouts involve an Olympic Weightlifting discipline; making this class the perfect opportunity to get a firm understanding of techniques that will carry over into CrossFit workouts.
